The Magellan range: soft, non-slip floors
The Magellan flooring rangehas been designed to respect the natural physiology of cows, whose feet are adapted to soft floors. Standing and walking on hard floors is unnatural and can lead to trauma, locomotor dysfunction and excessive horn growth, particularly in primiparous cows, which are genetically less prepared to produce good foot pads.
Thanks to its suppleness and drainage grooves, Magellan floor coveringsprevent injuries that can lead to foot pathologies, while promoting the continuous evacuation of liquids. The result: a drier, less slippery surface, limiting the risk of falls and associated injuries.
By reducing the stress associated with soil instability, cows move more serenely, stay healthier and express their full production potential. Studies show that a farm equipped with Magellan can gain a full lactation for every 100 cows, while also seeing an improvement in fertility rates.
At the same time, the overall hygiene of the building is reinforced, limiting the proliferation of bacteria responsible for dermatitis such as Mortellaro's disease or cherry blight, and protecting animals with skin lesions on their feet.

Magellan® 16: the solution for slurry robots
To keep pace with the boom in robotic vacuum cleaners, and to meet the needs of the farms that install them, we have developed a thinner version of our Magellan® 25 draining rubber flooring: Magellan® 16.
With its 16 mm thickness, this coating retains the Magellan 's main advantages, while offering optimum compatibility with slurry robots. Its longitudinally grooved profile is perfectly cleaned by specially adapted brushes that can be fitted to the robot.
The Magellan® 16 is the ideal compromise between Magellan® comfort, drainage and hygiene, and the daily efficiency of a robotic vacuum cleaner.

Flexibility comparable to natural soil
- Cows' hooves have been shaped by evolution to walk on soft, loose, vegetation-covered ground.
- Hard, concreted soils disrupt this natural adaptation, causing disorders such as chronic inflammation of the distal phalanx, the formation of bony excrescences and sole ulcers.
- Magellan® soil reproduces the qualities of natural soil, offering a soft, shock-absorbing surface. It increases the area of contact with the ground, enabling better weight distribution over the whole hoof, and reduces pressure points responsible for internal foot lesions.
