MAGELLAN® 16

The range of Magellan® non-slip flooring ensures cows can move calmly by effectively reducing the risk of slipping. For optimal compatibility with manure robots, we have developed the Magellan 16 mm model. This ideal thickness guarantees perfect cleaning of the grooves by the manure robot, thus preserving hygiene and safety in the building.

The Magellan range: flexible and non-slip flooring

The Magellan flooring range has been designed to respect the natural physiology of cows, whose feet are adapted to flexible floors. Standing and walking on hard floors is unnatural and can lead to trauma, locomotor dysfunction and excessive horn growth, especially in first-calf heifers, which are genetically less prepared to produce good foot pads.

Thanks to its flexibility and drainage grooves, Magellan flooring prevents lesions responsible for foot pathologies while promoting continuous liquid drainage. The result: a drier, less slippery surface, reducing the risk of falls and associated injuries.

By reducing stress related to unstable flooring, cows move more confidently, remain healthier, and express their full production potential. Studies show that a farm equipped with Magellan can gain an entire lactation per 100 cows, while also observing an improvement in fertility rates.

At the same time, the overall hygiene of the building is improved, limiting the proliferation of bacteria responsible for dermatitis such as Mortellaro's disease or heel erosion, and protecting animals with skin lesions on their feet.

Magellan® 16: the solution for slurry robots

To support the growth of vacuum robots and meet the needs of farms that are equipping themselves with them, we have developed a thinner version of our Magellan® 25 draining rubber flooring: Magellan® 16.

With its 16 mm thickness, this flooring retains the main advantages of Magellan while offering optimal compatibility with slurry robots. Its longitudinal groove profile is perfectly cleaned by specially adapted brushes that can be attached to the robot.

Magellan® 16 represents the ideal compromise to benefit from the comfort, drainage, and hygiene of Magellan®, while taking advantage of the daily efficiency of a vacuum robot.
