During a heat episode, the cow's internal temperature rises.
When the cow lies down on theAquastar, the heat it emits is transferred to the mattress (following the principle of thermal circulation from hot to cold). This lowers the cow's temperature.
When the cow gets up, the mattress has stored heat. This time, the heat is transferred from the mattress to the environment. In this way, theAquastar remains at room temperature, ready to house a new cow. The Aquastar mattress helps reduce thermal stress in ITH by 1 to 2 points.
