Concrete and lasting results with Aquastar waterbeds
Located in Lake City, Minnesota, Bremer Dairy has approximately 400 dairy cows.
Managed by Jeff Bremer, his three sons, and his partner, the farm chose to equip its new building with Aquastar Bioret Agri waterbeds to improve animal comfort and reduce maintenance costs.
« In our old barn, we used lime on concrete, then different types of mats. But the litter accumulated underneath, and the cows slipped as soon as the surfaces were wet. With Aquastar waterbeds, this no longer happens: the cows get up effortlessly and lie down gently. »
Since the installation of the system, the farm has seen an average production of 88 to 92 pounds of milk per cow per day — compared to 82 to 84 previously — as well as a significant decrease in litter consumption:
« We went from a semi-trailer of wood shavings per month to just six per year, with twice as many stalls. The savings are enormous. »
