Magellan range: flexible, anti-slip flooring
The Magellan flooring range is designed to respect the natural physiology of cows, whose hooves are adapted to soft ground. Standing and walking on hard surfaces is unnatural and can lead to trauma, locomotion issues, and excessive hoof growth, particularly in first-lactation cows, which are genetically less adapted to develop strong digital cushions.
Thanks to its flexibility and drainage grooves, Magellan flooring helps prevent lesions responsible for hoof disorders while ensuring continuous liquid evacuation. The result: a drier, less slippery surface, reducing the risk of falls and related injuries.
By reducing stress caused by unstable footing, cows move more confidently, stay healthier, and express their full production potential. Studies show that farms equipped with Magellan can gain the equivalent of one full lactation per 100 cows, while also improving fertility rates.
At the same time, overall building hygiene is improved, limiting the spread of bacteria responsible for conditions such as digital dermatitis (Mortellaro) and “strawberry foot disease,” while protecting animals with existing skin lesions on the hoof.

Magellan® 16: the solution for manure robots
To support the rise of manure robots and meet the needs of farms adopting them, we developed a thinner version of our Magellan® 25 draining rubber flooring: Magellan® 16.
At 16 mm thick, this flooring retains the key benefits of Magellan while ensuring optimal compatibility with manure robots. Its longitudinal groove profile is efficiently cleaned by brushes specifically designed to be mounted on the robot.

- Hard, concrete floors disrupt this natural adaptation, leading to disorders such as chronic inflammation of the distal phalanx, bone overgrowth, and sole ulcers.
- Magellan® flooring replicates the properties of natural ground by providing a flexible, shock-absorbing surface. It increases ground contact area, allowing better weight distribution across the entire hoof and reducing pressure points responsible for internal hoof lesions.
